Ever since Arjit Taneja, who played the role of Purab in Kumkum Bhagya, quit the show, the makers have been facing a lot of trouble getting a new face for the character. Recently, rumours had been doing the rounds that Madhubala-Ek Ishq Ek Junoon actor Gunjan Utreja was likely to play the role of Purab.
However, according to Tellychakkar.com, Gunjan failed to bag the role and now the makers have apparently roped in Ishaan Singh Manhas. Ishaan has been part of several shows including Ek Mutthi Aasman, Swim Team and reality show Splitsvilla 9.
Sources told the website that Ishaan will apparently start shooting soon and his entry in the daily soap will be aired sometime by the end of this month.
In other news, Arjit had apparently decided to quit as his character lost prominence over a period of time. Rumour also had it that the actor has apparently made an exit from the daily soap to participate in the upcoming controversial reality show Bigg Boss 10, hosted by Salman Khan.
Last week, Arjit wrapped up his shoot and had said that he would miss the team of Kumkum Bhagya including Shabir Ahluwalia aka Abhi and Sriti Jha aka Pragya. He also admitted that he was taking a risk quitting the top-rated show.
"I will miss the show a lot. I will really miss all the things... the whole shooting routine, meeting Shabbir Bhai, Sriti Jha. Leaving the number one show is like taking a big risk. I have learnt everything on the show. I have grown as an actor and also as a person," Arjit had said.
