Thiruvananthapuram / New Delhi, Oct 8 (ANI): Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, faced ire from his own party for backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 'Clean India' campaign. Modi, while launching his Clean India drive, had called on personalities from different fields of work, including Tharoor, to take up the cleanliness challenge and continue with the sanitation mission. Tharoor backed Modi's vision but drew flak from his own party. However, later the leader, representing Thiruvananthapuram constituency in Kerala, said he supported Mahatma Gandhi's vision of clean India in national interest. On Wednesday, president of Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), V.M. Sudheeran, said Tharoor's pro-Modi statements were unacceptable.
