For the fans of Japanese anime artist Soubi Yamamoto, it is an exciting time. The fifth instalment in her Kono Danshi series has bagged an anime adaptation. "Kono Danshi, Mahou ga Oshigoto desu" will premiere in Japan on Friday, 5 February, 2016. The premiere episode will depict a warm friendship between Chiharu Kashima and Toyohi Utsumi.

The four-part anime series, which will be broadcast over the course of four weeks, will focus on the romance between the lead characters. The plot of "Kono Danshi, Mahou ga Oshigoto desu" revolves around Chiharu Kashima's job as the captain of the Wizard Bureau's Crisis Countermeasures Division. Chiharu, one of the protagonists, buries himself in his job and almost denies himself the freedom to enjoy. However, one day when he does go to his favourite bar, he meets Toyohi Utsumi. What ensues is a story about friendship and love. Toyohi admits that he is in love with Chiharu. Nevertheless, will the hardworking Chiharu allow himself to love and be loved? This remains the plot's central question.

According to an article on Anime News Network, the cast of "Kono Danshi, Mahou ga Oshigoto desu" includes Yuuki Ono as Chiharu and Taku Yashiro as Toyohi.

Animation creator Soubi Yamamoto will direct the thirty-minute episodes and singer/composer Shouta Aoi will produce the music, write the lyrics and lend her soothing voice to theme song, "Kimi no Kotoba" (Your Words).

"Kono Danshi, Mahou ga Oshigoto desu" airs on Friday, 4 February, at 11pm JST on Tokyo MX, and on Monday, 8 February, at 1am JST on BS11.
