Kapil Sharma's debut film "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon" (KKPK) has got a smashing opening at the box office. The romantic comedy has recorded eighth highest opening of 2015.

Kapil's film has earned more than Sooraj Pancholi's debut film "Hero", which was produced and promoted by Salman Khan. In fact, the opening day box office collection of Kapil's movie is higher than Akshay Kumar's "Baby".

"Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon" earned Rs 10.15 crore on its opening day at the domestic box office.

" #BO: @KapilSharmaK9's Bollywood debut film #KisKiskoPyaarKaroon collects Rs. 10.15 cr on Opening day," Bollywood Hungama tweeted.

"Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon" received negative reviews, but the film managed to pull the crowd to the theatres. "KKPK" was released along with "Madhur Bhandarkar's "Calendar Girls" and Kunal Khemu's "Bhaag Johnny", but the former overshadowed the other two releases at the box office.

"KKPK" opened to 30 to 40% occupancy in the morning shows, but the occupancy increased later in the evening, and night shows. The film also managed to have a good opening at the box office due to Eid al-Adha holiday across the country.

The occupancy at several circuits was similar to "Brothers" and "Tanu Weds Manu Returns". According to Box Office India, the only films that opened well in terms of occupancy are "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", "ABCD 2" and "Welcome Back".

"KKPK" will now put up a good opening weekend at the box office, as the film started on a good note.

Directed by Abbas Mastan, the film features an ensemble cast, including Arbaaz Khan, Manjari Phadnis, Amrita Puri, Simran Kaur Mundi, Elli Avram, Sai Lokur, Varun Sharma, Supriya Pathak, Sharat Saxena, Manoj Joshi, Sharad Sankla (Charlie), and Johnny Lever's daughter Jamie Lever.
