It is no secret that "Keeping up with the Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian is a fan of Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.

But Middleton doesn't reciprocate the sentiment, and she has reportedly rebuffed a number of attempts by the reality show star to get close to her. And now Kardashian seems to have had enough.

According to a new Star Magazine report, Kardashian is finally throwing in the towel and she is surprised that the Royal Family would treat her this way, especially as she has nothing but respect for them.

"After years of trying to worm her way in to Kate's life, it was one rejection too many. She and Kanye can't believe that any one would treat them this way. She is devastated," an insider told the magazine, according to Celebdirtylaundry.

The source pointed out that Kardashian had reached out to Middleton on more than one occasion. But Middleton's response has been anything but warm. Kardashian even tried to secure invitations to events that Middleton was scheduled to appear in. But the Duchess snubbed her once again and cancelled one of her events at the last moment because she heard Kardashian would be attending, the insider dished to the magazine.

News of Middleton's apparent disinterest in associating with the Kardashians grabbed headlines in 2012 when a report claimed that Middleton returned several gifts from Kardashian that included clothes from the Kardashian Kollection.

"While she was in London last week, Kim had several free dresses from her Kardashian Kollection sent to Princess Kate," one source revealed to Marie Claire in 2012. "She hoped Kate might be seen wearing one of the designs out in public, which would give their fashion credentials a huge boost."

But Middleton refused to accept the gift. "Kate is hardly going to turn up for an event with the Queen in a cheap leopard-print miniskirt or gold sequinned jacket,' the source added.

It is not immediately known if there is any truth to all these claims, especially as all the sources are "unnamed insiders."
