The girlfriend of an American passenger on board the missing Malaysia plane MH370 has received death threat, mysterious calls and two break-ins, it has been reported.

Sarah Bajc, the girlfriend of the passenger Philip Wood, received an instant message that said, "I'm going to come and kill you next" about two weeks after the aircraft mysteriously went missing on 8 March, the NBC reports.

Bajc is currently in Beijing and was planning to move from China to live with Philip Wood, a 50-year-old Texas native and IBM Malaysia employee, in Kuala Lumpur before the tragedy.

Bajc also received several pornographic images and unsettling phone calls from the same China-based number.

"It was just another straw on the camel's back, very unsetting," Bajc told the news channel.

"Whoever came wasn't very careful because I'm real neat freak, so it was immediately apparent to me that something had been moved," she said about the first break in.

"My housekeeper was out of town, so it couldn't have been her and I got home before my son got back. The password on my safe had been reset which happens when you try the wrong code three times."

According to Bajc, she received the calls and messages shortly after her apartment was broken into for the first time sometime in the second week after Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared.

"The second time was a couple weeks later and my neighbor saw two people leaving my apartment. I have no illusions of privacy here (in Beijing)," She added.

The phone calls and break-in attempts all stopped after FBI was informed about the incidences, Bajc said.

The bizarre case of the missing plane has become even stranger after the latest revelation of the missing passenger's girlfriend. People have taken to social media and asked why anyone would want to kill the girlfriend of a missing passenger of a plane that has simply vanished into thin air.

Did the culprits suspect Bajc of knowing something about the missing plane's whereabouts? Did they hold her boyfriend accountable for what happened to MH370? Where they from the Chinese intelligence who wanted to stop her from revealing something that she possibly knew? Is Bajc herself concealing something from us?

In any case, the plot has only thickened.
