Kerala box office: Kattappanayile Hrithik (Rithwik) Roshan scores big at Kochi multiplexes

The recently released Malayalam comedy entertainer Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan (also spelled Kattappanayile Rithwik Roshan) has been making good business at the Kerala box office since its release on November 18.

Mimicry artiste-turned-actor Nadhirshah's second directorial venture has been performing well at the six multiplexes in Kochi. The comedy entertainer is estimated to have crossed Rs 2 crore mark from its successful run at the multiplexes in the city within 31 days. The total earning of the Vishnu Unnikrishnan-starrer is said to be Rs 2.02 crore within a month of its release from the multiplexes in the city.

Even on the 31st day, Dileep's production venture Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan made a business of more than Rs 2.08 lakh from five shows at PVR Cinemas in Kochi, followed by Rs 1.17 crore from five shows at Cinepolis. The movie, which had a total of 28 shows, enjoyed a theatre occupancy of 49.93 percent with one houseful show at the PVR on Monday, December 19. The total box office collection of the movie from the multiplexes in Kochi on the 31st day is said to be Rs 4.89 lakh.

Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan, which narrates the story of an aspiring actor from a village in Kerala, has been garnering positive response for its interesting plot and notable performances by Salim Kumar, Siddique and Dharmajan Bolgatty. It also has an ensemble cast, including Prayaga Martin, Lijomol Jose, Siju Wilson, Pradeep Kottayam, Rahul Madhav, Kalabhavan Shajon and Swasika in significant roles.
