Actor Dileep's new Malayalam flick "Nadodi Mannan" will hit theatres across Kerala on 18 October.

With this, Dileep is hoping to recreate the success of his Onam release "Sringaravelan". His upcoming film "Nadodi Mannan" has been directed by Viji Thampi. The film has been in the making for some time as it reportedly faced many financial difficulties during the production stage. It was initially supposed to release a couple of months back.

Dileep plays a common man who makes money by attending demonstrations for political parties. He later moves to the capital city where he organises demonstrations for various politicians. Due to various circumstances, he manages to become the mayor of the city and then takes on the system and comes up with ways to clean the city. The film is a comedy caper and will be a treat for all Dileep fans.

The upcoming flick has three ladies in the lead role - Ananya, Mythily and Archana Kavi. It also stars Salim Kumar, Saikumar, Nedumudi Venu, Riyas Khan and Sayaji Shinde in a negative role. Krishnan Poojappura has written the script and it has been produced by Chithram Films. The music is by Vidyasagar and Sanjeev Shankar wields the camera.

Dileep's films generally do well when he plays a commoner taking on the system. "Nadodi Mannan" will also look at "Ee Parakkum Thalika" for inspiration. "Ee Parakkum Thalika", another Dileep starrer, also faced several financial difficulties during production and was released a year after its projected release date. However, the film went on to become a blockbuster and was one of the career-defining films for Dileep.
