Debutant director Ganesh Raj's latest Malayalam movie Aanandam is making good business at the Kerala box office. The movie, starring seven debutants in the lead roles, narrates the incidents that happen during a four-day trip of a batch of engineering students from Kerala.
The campus entertainer is set to cross the Rs 1 crore mark from the multiplexes in Kochi. The movie has already grossed Rs 91 lakh within two weeks of its theatrical run at the five screens in the city.
If Aanandam continues its good run, the movie is expected to cross the Rs 1 crore mark within three days, since only two movies - Swarna Kaduva and Kolumittayi - have been released on Friday. Meanwhile, Aanandam, which has released in screens in rest of India with English subtitles on Friday, November 4, is expected to open to do good business in other markets as well. It has to be noted that Aanandam had even surpassed the collection of Mohanlal's Pulimurugan for a few days at the multiplexes. The action thriller has already become the biggest grosser in Malayalam within four weeks of its release in Kerala.
Aanandam, which is the maiden production venture of Vineeth Sreenivasan, stars Arun Kurian, Thomas Mathew, Siddhi Mahajankatti, Roshan Mathew, Annu Antony, Vishak Nair and Anarkali Marikar in the lead roles.
