During a popular Malayalam news channel's debate, a Congress leader was asked to leave the news room by the anchor following a serious argument on the resignation of former Kerala Finance Minister KM Mani and excise minister K Babu's involvement in the controversial bar bribery case.

The incident took place on Thursday, 12 November during Asianet News Hour at 8 pm when show host and journalist Vinu V John had a heated argument with guest speaker T Siddique.

Kerala Bar Hotels Association working president Biju Ramesh recently alleged that he had given Rs 50 lakh as bribe to Babu just a day after Mani resigned over corruption allegations.

While asked about Babu's involvement in the case, Siddique defended Babu saying that the minister has never accepted any bribe.

"Who is Babu? He was the one who didn't let 14 bars start business soon after he became minister, who made changes to the alcohol laws in Kerala by increasing the drinking age limit to 21, who reduced the working hours of bars, who closed down more than 700 bars and 40 beverage corporations in Kerala," Siddique said during the show.

He also added that Babu never wanted to accept the excise department when Congress came into power.

Following the heated arguments, Siddique yelled at the news anchor saying he is attending the show just like others to speak and not just to listen to Vinu's speech.

The discussion was also attended by CPI(M) MLA Sreeramakrishnan and CPI MLA Sunilkumar, who were left clueless during the argument between the two.

However, after Siddique claimed the discussion as useless, the news anchor repeatedly asked him to leave the studio losing his calm.

The video of the hot discussion has been doing the rounds on social media.
