The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has decided to double the fee structure of its schools from April.

KVS has already circulated the revised fee structure among school principals across the nation. The new tuition fee remains unchanged while the computer and Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi (VVN) fees have been doubled.

After the revision, students from class I to VIII will have to pay ₹600 as monthly fee, which was previously ₹290. Similarly, the revised monthly fee for class IX and X would be ₹800, as against the earlier ₹490.₹250 extra

KVS has also revised the fee structure for classes XI and XII (commerce and humanities). Students of higher secondary will now have to pay ₹900 per month, instead of the earlier ₹590.

Students who opted for Information Practice (IP) as an elective subject will have to pay an additional amount of ₹50 every month.

Meanwhile, the revised fee for the students of science stream of Class XI and XII will be ₹1,000, an extra ₹250. For IP students, the fee would be ₹50 more per month.

"We have already collected the revised fee from students who have taken admission in Class 1 this year," said principal of KV, Berhampur A K Mishra.

Mishra also said that students of various classes will be informed about the revised fee structure when the results are declared on 28 March.

The principal also said that VVN funds and computer funds would be utilised for the development of computer laboratories and other infrastructure.
