"Keerthi was recently signed on for the project. Director Prabhu felt she would be perfect for the role. Initially, he had plans of casting a newcomer, but after seeing Keerthi's work in Malayalam, he decided to go with her," a source told IANS.

Keerthi, who is the daughter of Malayalam producer Suresh Kumar and veteran actress Menaka, made her debut in as a child artiste with "Pilots" in 2000 and later appeared in "Achaneyanenikkistham" (2001) and "Kuberan" (2002).

In 2013, Keerthi made her debut as lead heroine in Priyadarshan's psychological thriller "Geethanjali" in which she played a double role. The film was an unofficial sequal of the Malayalam blockbuster "Manichithrathazhu" (1993) and the plot was loosely based on the book, "Elephants Can Remember", written by Agatha Christie.

Meanwhile, the actress is now awaiting the release of "Idhu Enna Maayam", "Rajini Murugan" and "Paambu Sattai" in Tamil, "Aina Ishatam Nuvvu" and "Harikatha" in Telugu and "Darboni" in Malayalam.

The shooting of the upcoming Prabhu Solomon film is expected to kick-start soon after Dhanush completes "VIP 2". According to reports, Dhanush will be spotted in two different looks in "VIP 2", which also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Amy Jackson and KS Ravikumar.
