Putting an end to speculations about the Telugu remake of "Kaththi", sources close to the Telugu film industry confirmed Jr NTR as the lead in the flick. Reports state that Jr NTR has finally given his nod to the movie with some changes in the script which match the interest of Telugu audience.
Earlier, names of Ram Kalyan, Mahesh Baby Ram Charan and Allu Arjun were doing the rounds for the role.
The recent reports also state that Gopichand Malineni of the "Balupu" fame will direct the movie, which will be jointly produced by Nallamallapu Srinivas and Tagore Madhu
If the "Kaththi" remake materialises, the movie will be the first remake ever for Jr NTR. The shooting of the movie is expected to kick-start soon after NTR completes his film with Sukumar, while Gopichand Malineni is currently busy with "Pandaga Chesko" starring Ram Potineni.
Meanwhile, the official confirmation regarding the cast and crew of "Kaththi" remake is still awaited. It would be interesting to see if the Telugu version will have Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead, like in Tamil version.
"Kaththi" starring Vijay and Samantha in the lead was released on 22 October, 2014. The movie was one of the biggest hits of the year and went on to mint over ₹23 crore on the opening day at the worldwide box office.
