At least one terrorist has been killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday. The firing also claimed the life of one police officier and left another injured. The gunfight is still on.

The police have cordoned off an under-construction building suspected to be located in the outskirts around a mini-secretariat in Poonch district's Allah Pir area. They had received information that around two to three heavily-armed terrorists were inside the building.

The firing began when the police were laying a cordon around the building causing the death of a police personnel.

The building is reportedly near an army camp and troops have been deployed to neutralise the terrorists.

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh has blamed Pakistan for the incidents saying: "These are highly condemnable actions by Pakistan. It's being done by them. They are creating trouble in Kashmir. Pakistan has become a failed state. See what's happening in Balochistan, PoK, Gilgit Baltistan & other areas."
