Srinagar, Nov 01 (ANI): The government officials of Jammu and Kashmir geared up on Saturday (November 01) to shift state capital from Srinagar to Jammu city for winter season. The bi-annual practice of shifting the 'Darbar' (Secretariat) between the two capital cities of the state dates back to the 19th century. It is estimated the whole exercise of relocating offices costs the government crores of rupees every year. The civil secretariat will open in Jammu on November 05. Srinagar experiences severe winter, covered with snow and a pleasant weather in summers, while Jammu city records high temperatures during summer, but is relatively warm in winters.
