Rajouri, Oct 20 (ANI): Flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir urged the Central government to start rehabilitation work in the devastated valley on a war footing. Residents had pinned hopes on Modi government for help in bringing the flood ravaged state of Jammu and Kashmir back on track. A legislator of Rajouri region, Choudhary Zulakar Ali, appealed to the Central government to look into the matter seriously. Both Indian and Pakistani sides of the state have seen extensive flooding last month with Srinagar particularly hard hit. Hundreds of people have been killed and tens of thousands are homeless. A flood victim, Abdul Rasheed, also urged the government to rehabilitate the displaced people in the region. Many complain that the government has left them to their fate. Authorities say the cost of damage in Jammu and Kashmir may run into crores of rupees.
