While advance booking tickets for Bahubali 2 (Baahubali-The Conclusion) are being sold at much higher prices across Karnataka, especially Bengaluru, latest buzz suggests that the proposed cap of Rs 200 on movie ticket prices in the state will be effective from just a day before the film's release.

Advance booking of the SS Rajamouli movie has received tremendous response across the state of Karnataka. Almost all the advance booking tickets were sold like hot cakes just days ahead of the release of Bahubali 2.

While tickets are being sold on an average rate of Rs 300 to Rs 400, some others are even selling those at Rs 600. The Karnataka government had earlier announced that a cap of Rs 200 on the prices of movie tickets will be implemented from May 1. By this law, no theatre (single screen or multiplex) can charge more than Rs 200 for any film.

However, latest rumours suggest that the cap will be implemented right from Thursday, April 27, which is just a day prior to the release of Bahubali 2. "#Karnataka state Govt issues an emergency GO capping tkt prices at Rs 200 effective tomorrow. In accordance with High court directive," industry insider Ramesh Bala tweeted on Wednesday evening.

However, there has not been any official confirmation on the implementation of the cap across the state. In this scenario, a couple of important questions arise regarding the ticket prices of Bahubali 2.

The online advance booking of Bahubali 2 tickets started in full swing on Wednesday. Not only the multiplexes, even the single screens have charged double the usual rate for the movie, and most of the tickets have already been sold and paid for.

Now if the buzz of the cap of Rs 200 being effective from Thursday itself is true, what will happen to the tickets that have already been sold out? Will the theatre-owners refund the money, and follow the new price cap for Bahubali 2?

Well, this seems to be a tricky situation, and nothing seems certain unless an official confirmation comes regarding the Rs 200 cap on movie tickets across Karnataka.
