Bangalore, Aug 23 (ANI): Thousands of mourners paid their last respects to Jnanpith award winner and Kannada literary icon UR Ananthamurthy, who passed away on Friday. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah along with his cabinet ministers, Union Ministers Ananth Kumar and DV Sadananda Gowda, Kannada writers and leaders of all parties paid tribute to Ananthamurthy. The mortal remains of Ananthamurthy were kept for public homage at the premises of the Ravindra Kalakshetra as the state observed three days of mourning. His last rites are performed according to Hindu rituals at Kalagrama inside Bangalore University premises.
