Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor and her husband, industrialist Sanjay Kapur, have separated for over five years now. In December 2015, Sanjay filed a fresh divorce petition, which stated that Karisma married him for money.
The couple filed their first legal notice in 2014. However, the current divorce petition stated that Karisma married Sanjay as a rebound after breaking up with Abhishek Bachchan, according to Mumbai Mirror.
The petition further suggested that Karisma didn't allow Sanjay and his family members to meet their kids -- Samaira and Kiaan Raj Kapoor – and claimed for more money. It also stated that she "cruelly deprived" Sunjay's sick father to meet his grandkids, and he passed away "while pining for them".
In the petition, Sanjay accused Karisma of choosing her career over him and also cheating on him. The report suggests that Karisma tried to make Sanjay look like a substance abuser, cheater and alcoholic, but the petition says that it was she who had an extra-marital affair.
On the other hand, Karisma's lawyer Kranti Sathe termed Sanjay's accusations atrocious and false. "We will tell the court that he is causing great harm to the children's welfare by spreading false stories. We don't want trial by media," Sathe told Mumbai Mirror.
After so many years, the duo's divorce is still on hold as the centre of the court battle, which is their kids' custody, has not been decided yet. However, nobody can tell who is speaking the truth, but filing a petition with such accusations after so many years proves that both the parties are not giving up so easily.
