The year 2014 saw several debutants in Bollywood such as Fawad Khan and Kriti Sanon, who received success with their first film, and some who struggled to fit in.
Similarly, many superstars of today's film industry have made successful debuts and maintained that charm until now.
Here are some of these smashing debuts in Bollywood.
Salman Khan made his debut as lead actor in Sooraj Barjatya's "Maine Pyar Kiya" and garnered appreciation from all quarters along with his co-star Bhagyashree who was also a debutant. Till date Salman Khan has maintained the magic when he comes on the big screen and has continued to give blockbusters.
The Bollywood diva appeared in her first film with superstar Shah Rukh Khan and the pair was loved in Farah Khan's "Om Shanti Om." Later, Padukone struggled for a while but after her brilliant performance in "Cocktail", the actress continued to give blockbuster flicks, which made it to the 100 crore club.
Aamir Khan mesmerised viewers and won Filmfare in his debut film "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak." Even, Juhi Chawla debuted with the same flick and the pair became one of the hit on-screen couples.
Also, Aamir Khan's debut directorial "Taare Zameen Par" was a blockbuster hit.
Hrithik Roshan captured hearts with his body and dance moves when he first appeared in his father's directorial "Kaho Naa... Pyar Hai". He and Ameesha Patel stole hearts with their brilliant performances in the film.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
Kareena Kapoor Khan made her debut with debutant Abhishek Bachchan in "Refugee." The film was the fifth highest grosser of that year and Kareena won Best Female Debut award for the movie.
Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan was already famous before coming into films. He was a popular TV star with serials like "Fauji" and "Circus." His debut performance in "Deewana" brought him into Bollywood's limelight but he attained fame with his flicks, "Baazigar" and "Darr."
While Priyanka Chopra first appeared on silver screen with Sunny Deol's "Hero" but she actually made her debut with Akshay Kumar's "Andaaz". Her sizzling performance was appreciated a lot, which bagged her Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
Actor Shahid Kapoor made his debut in Ken Ghosh's "Ishq Vishk" which also had debutant Amrita Rao. Kapoor's chocolaty boy look and dance moves were quite liked by the audience which made the film a hit at the box office. The actor, who recently received Filmfare Best Male Actor for "Haider", had won the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award at that time.
Ranveer Singh made his entry in Bollywood with a bang with "Band Baaja Baaraat". The film as well as Singh had highly impressed the audience. The actor is now one of the most sought after actors in the industry.
Anushka Sharma had impressed viewers with her simple looks and outstanding acting in "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi" opposite SRK. The actress has continued giving such brilliant performances so far.
Even Arjun Kapoor with "Ishaqzaade", Sonakshi Sinha with "Dabangg", Parineeti Chopra with "Ladies vs Ricky Bahl", Alia-Varun-Sidharth with "Student of the Year", made their blockbuster debuts in Bollywood.
