Karbonn Titanium S5 vs. Xolo X1000: Can Karbonn's Quad-Core Smartphone Match Xolo’s Fastest Handset?

The Indian smartphone market which is touted as the one of fastest growing smartphone markets in the world, currently houses more than 130 national and MNC companies fighting for major market share.

Local smartphone makers such as Micromax, Karbonn, Lava and its subsidiary Xolo, Intex Technologies, Celkon are all starting to get the attention of price-sensitive consumers thanks to their range of low-cost smartphones with high-end features giving stiff challenge to MNC brands Apple, Samsung, BlackBerry and others.

Two weeks ago, Xolo launched the much hyped fastest smartphone - X1000 with a 2 GHz processor.

The very next day, Karbonn launched a low cost quad-core smartphone called Titanium S5, thereby intensifying the competition among Indian smartphone makers.

Both Titanium S5 and X1000 have high-end specs, but it remains to be seen which smartphone has the upper hand over the other.

Processor:

Titanium S5 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor with 1.2 GHz clock speed.

On other hand, rival Xolo X1000 houses the fastest 2GHz single-core processor in the industry, but the Titanium S5 still holds a upper hand over the Xolo smartphone thanks to quad-core processor.

Smartphones with multi-core processors can perform several operations at a single instance and still be able to last the smartphone's battery over a day.

Camera:

Titanium S5 packs a 8.0-megapixel main camera with Auto-focus & flash support and a 2.0-megapixel front camera. X1000 comes with an 8.0-megapixel main camera with LED flash support, and a 1.3-megapixel VGA secondary camera on the front.

Mobile Operating System:

In terms of mobile operating system, Karbonn Titanium S5 and Xolo X1000 stand even in this department as they both run on Android mobile operating system.

Xolo smartphone sports an Android mobile OS version 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich out-of-box, with options of Jelly Bean upgrade. On the other hand, the Karbonn smartphone directly ships with Android 4.1.2 OS.  

Price:

Karbonn Titanium S5 is currently priced around for ₹11,990, whereas Xolo X1000 is priced ₹19,999, almost ₹8000 costlier than its competitor.
