The Indian smartphone market, which is pegged as one of the fastest growing smartphone markets in the world, is burgeoning with more than 130 national and MNC mobile vendors vying for a formidable market share.

National smartphone makers such as Micromax, Karbonn, Lava and its subsidiary Xolo, Intex Technologies, and Celkon are all churning out low-cost smartphones with high-end features, giving a stiff fight to MNC brands like Apple, Samsung, BlackBerry and others.

Recently, within a week apart, both Xolo and rival Karbonn launched low-cost quad-core smartphones Q800 and Titanium S5, respectively, in the Indian market.

Both Titanium S5 and Q800 have high-end specs, but it remains to be seen which smartphone has the upper hand over the other.

Here is a brief comparison of the main specs between Karbonn Titanium S5 and Xolo Q800:

Display:

Karbonn Titanium S5 sports a competitive 5.0-inch qHD IPS capacitive screen with 540x960p display resolutions, whereas Q800 features a smaller screen with 4.5-inch display and the same 540x960p resolution.

Processor:

Xolo Q800 and Karbonn Titanium S5 stand even in this department, as they both house quad-core processors with the same 1.2GHz CPU speed.

Camera:

Titanium S5 packs an 8.0-megapixel main camera with Auto-focus and flash support and 2.0-megapixel front camera, whereas rival Q800 comes with an 8.0-megapixel main camera with BSI and CMOS sensor, and a 1-megapixel secondary camera at the front.

Mobile Operating System:

In terms of mobile OS, again both smartphones stand even in this department, as Xolo Q800 and Karbonn Titanium S5 run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.

Both smartphones have similar storage, RAM, battery capacity and network connectivity features with negligible differences.

Price:

Karbonn Titanium S5 currently sells for ₹11,990, whereas Xolo Q800 is priced at ₹ 12,499, just ₹500 costlier than its competitor.

Currently, Xolo Q800, Karbonn Titanium S5 and Micromax A116 Canvas HD, all backed with superior specifications, have the potential to give a stiff fight to expensive MNC smartphones in the Indian market.
