The lollipop update has also successfully addressed random app crashes issue and includes quick heads-up notifications and enhanced security settings for improved user experience.

The other two Google partners of the Android One initiative, Micromax and Spice, have confirmed the availability days before.

If you're unaware, Google released Android 5.0 Lollipop in November last year for the Nexus branded smartphones and tablets. Though the update featured several significant changes as compared TO its predecessor Kitkat, the 5.0 has many bugs like low battery life and WiFi issues, that need to be fixed. Thus, Google launched two quick updates 5.0.1 and 5.0.2, featuring all the fixes.

Following that all the major smartphone manufacturers, including Smasung, HTC, Sony and Motorola rescheduled their update release programme for a month and finally rolled out the 5.0.2 update through OTA. The latest Android 5.1 Lollipop is currently available only to Nexus and Android One devices.
