Popular stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma has been roped in to play the male lead in producer duo Abbas-Mustan's next project.

The host of the TV show "Comedy Nights with Kapil," is said to have been reportedly approached by the makers for the role. Sharma is apparently in talks with them regarding the project, though, the deal has not been finalized as the actor is currently away from the country and is expected to sign the contract once he is back.

Interestingly, the film will have five heroines starring opposite Sharma. The makers are likely to begin the shoot by November this year.

"It will be a comedy of errors, a typical Govinda-type entertainer. There will be five heroines opposite Kapil in the film. The shoot is expected to commence in November this year," a source close to the development told the Times of India.

Abbas-Mustan, who are known for producing action-thiller genre films, will be involved with a comic genre for the first time.

"We've had a few meetings with Kapil and talks are at an advanced stage. He's currently abroad and we are waiting for his return to finalise the deal. We now want to explore genres other than action-thrillers and comedy is one of them," said Abbas confirming the news.

Sharma, who had recently lost the chance to debut in Bollywood with the Yash Raj Film (YRF) production's "Bank Chor" has been receiving several other offers in their films.

The sudden fall in the film deal raised numerous questions regarding what may have caused the issue. The YRF production house, however, made an official announcement regarding Sharma's exit and stated that the decision was through mutual consent.

It had been reported that Sharma was delaying the shoot for the film as he was busy shooting the episodes for his TV show, which might be the reason for his exit.

The actor was later replaced by Riteish Deshmukh, who has had successfully proved his comic timing with the films "Grand Masti", "Kya Super Cool Hai Hum", "Housefull" and "Humshakals."

The actor-comedian has been successful in amassing global fans and has impressed his viewers irrespective of their age groups through his most watched TV show. He has even bagged his first advertisement contract with Honda Mobilio.
