Raghava Lawrence's "Kanchana 2" and Mani Ratnam's "OK Kanmani" continue to rule at the box office both at home and abroad, completing 25 successful days. Both the movies, which hit screens on 17 April, are among the best-received Tamil films produced in recent times.

While "Kanchana 2" has been rocking at the box office as a masala entertainer, Mani Ratnam's "OK Kanmani" has been touted as one of the classiest films in recent times.

"Kanchana 2", which has already been declared a blockbuster hit, has reportedly earned over ₹50 crore in India. In Chennai alone, the film has grossed ₹5.86 crore at the box office.

Meanwhile, "Ganga", the Telugu dubbed version of "Kanchana 2", has also managed to do well at the box office and industry experts believe that both versions will soon emerge as one of the biggest grossers of South Indian cinema.

Coming to "Ok Kanmani" that stars Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen, the movie has been declared a hit. The ₹6-crore movie has emerged profitable for Mani Ratnam. For film buffs, the movie is one of the good Tamil romantic films in recent times.

Though the release of some big budget movies like Kamal Haasan's "Uttama Villain" has impacted its India box office earnings, the movie continues to do well overseas, especially in the US, Canada and the UK.

The movie has been appreciated for its music composed by AR Rahman and lyrics written by Vairamuthu. The cinematography of the film has been handled by PC Sreeram and has become the soul of "OK Kanmani" narration.
