Actor Kamal Haasan's magnum-opus "Vishwaroopam" and Tollywood star Prabhas's "Mirchi" have successfully completed 100 days on consecutive days.

Kamals' Vishwaroopam was released on 7 February in Tamil Nadu two weeks after the film's worldwide release. "Vishwaroopam" was embroiled in a controversy after a section of people demanded a ban on the film's screening, claiming that it hurt the sentiments of the Muslims.

Following the protests, the movie was banned from screening across Tamil Nadu and in some other states. Later, Kamal reached a compromise with the Muslim groups which eventually led to the release of the flick two weeks after its worldwide release on 25 January.

"Vishwaroopam" turned out to be a massive hit at the box office with the film grossing more than ₹200 crores. On Wednesday (15 May), the Kamal-starrer completed 100 days across theatres in Tamil Nadu.

The actor is currently busy with his upcoming project - "Vishwaroopam 2" - a sequel to "Vishwaroopam".

The film's original cast, including Kamal, Pooja Kumar, Andrea and Rahul Bose, will appear in the sequel. It is not known whether any new characters are being introduced in the second part. Kamal has planned to infuse 3D sound format in the sequel. The espionage thriller will also have a higher emotional quotient with the inclusion of a mother-son angle. The film is expected to get released this year.

Prabhas's 'Mirchi' Completes 100 Days

Tollywood actor Prabha's film "Mirchi" has completed 100 days across theatres in Andhra Pradesh. The film, directed by debutante Koratala Siva, was released on 8 February.

After receiving positive reviews, the film opened to a good response from film audience. The young rebel star's grossed more than ₹40 crore worldwide in just 17 days. According to trade experts, the film had the biggest opening and was the highest grosser in the history of the rebel star's career.

Anushka Shetty and Richa Gangopadhyay play the female leads. The film boasts of an ensemble cast, including Sathyaraj, Nadhiya, Adithya and Brahmanandam. The film's scores composed by Devi Sri Prasad have been chartbusters. The director's interesting story and screenplay, fantastic performances by the lead stars, Anushka and Richa's glamour and songs are some of the aspects that have helped in the film's success.
