Sun TV owner Kalanithi Maran and his wife Kaveri Kalanithi were the top paid corporate executives in the country for a third consecutive financial year ending 31 March, 2015. Their annual take home salary was Rs 61 crore each.

While Kalanithi Maran is the chairman and managing director of Asia's largest TV network, Kaveri Kalanithi is the executive director of the company.

Their annual salary increased by 2% in the last fiscal year even though the company's profit remained flat at Rs 1,434 crore compared to a year earlier, Livemint reported.

Onkar S Kanwar, chairman and managing director of Apollo Tyres Ltd, was ranked third among the top paid executives in India. He was the ninth highest paid executive in FY14. Kanwar saw a salary hike of 32% to Rs 42 crore and the company's profit soared by 45% in 2014-15.

In contrast, salary of Pawan Munjal, chairman and chief executive officer of Hero Motocorp Ltd, was down 88% at Rs 4.4 crore. The company's profit increased by 13% to Rs 2,386 crore last fiscal year and he stood at 139th spot in the list of highest paid executives.

Desh Bandhu Gupta, chairman of pharma giant Lupin, continued to remain as the fourth spot, with an unchanged salary of Rs 37 crore. Amara Raja Batteries' vice-chairman and managing director Jay Dev Galla made it to the top five list, earning a salary of Rs 34 crore.

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani climbed five notches up to 21st position despite a no change in his annual salary of Rs 15 crore.
