Dhanush is often praised for his commitment and passion towards his work and his films. Another person who is now totally impressed with Dhanush is Kajal Aggarwal, his co-star in "Maari".
It is for the first time the actress is being paired with Dhanush, who, she says, sets a new benchmark with his performances.
"Working with Dhanush was amazing. He's undoubtedly one of the most talented actors I've collaborated with. When you're working with somebody of very high calibre, who raises the bar every single time, you automatically work harder," Kajal Aggarwal told IANS.
According to the actress, the duo were supposed to pair for the 2007 movie "Polladhavan" as well as for another movie but things failed to fall in place as planned.
"Dhanush and I were supposed to work together for 'Polladhavan'. We even did a photo-shoot together, but I had to choose between this film and 'Chandamama' in Telugu because of the dates. We were again supposed to work together, but things didn't fall in place," she said.
The actress added that she enjoyed working with the young film maker.
"He's so focused and driven by passion for his craft that I really enjoy working with him. I really like working with people with fresh ideas, concepts and a different perspective towards cinema," she said.
"Maari' has managed to create a huge buzz with its trailer and songs. Dhanush's look in the movie with his twisted moustache, gold chains and gold rimmed dark glasses have become a trend setter.
With the good pre-release, trade experts believe, the movie has all the potential to be the next blockbuster in Tamil cinema.
"Maari", directed by Balaji Mohan, will be released on 17 July.
