Actor Kabir Bedi, who turned 70 on Saturday, got married to Parveen Dusanj (41) on his birthday. It was a surprise for all the guests as they were invited for a birthday party and were not informed about the big event.

"The invitation was sent for Kabir's birthday party in Mumbai. His family and friends from Bengaluru, Boston, London, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Europe flew in. The card read: 'Kabir Bedi and Parveen Dusanj invite you to Kabir's birthday, and come early for the Sufi performance'," Hindustan Times quoted a source as saying.

The wedding was held at Alibaug and attended by some close friends and family members. Kabir and his wife Parveen have known each other for more than 10 years.

"The timing of the marriage was really Parveen's decision. I had proposed to her on Rome's historic Spanish Steps six years ago on my knees. She agreed, but kept me in suspense as to when we would tie the knot. As friends and family were flying in from all over the world for my birthday, Parveen felt this was the best time to get married. So, it all happened very suddenly," the report quoted Kabir as saying.

Parveen is Kabir's fourth wife. The actor was earlier married to Protima Bedi, Susan Humphreys and then Nikki Bedi. All the marriages ended in divorce.
