After completing a successful opening weekend in Kerala, Rajinikanth's latest gangster thriller has witnessed a slight drop in its collection on the fourth day at the Kerala box office. The Pa. Ranjith directed film, which had collected more than Rs. 3 crore each on the first three days, has fallen down to a mark less than a crore on Monday, July 25.
According to the trade analysts, "Kabali" is said to have earned Rs. 82 lakh on its fourth day in Kerala making a total gross collection of Rs. 11.26 crore within four days of its theatrical run in the state. While the film approximately minted Rs. 4.27 crore on its opening day, the Rajini-starrer is believed to have collected Rs. 3.02 crore and Rs. 3.15 crore, respectively on the second and third days.
Meanwhile, the total gross collection of "Kabali" from the multiplexes in Kochi alone amounts to an approximate of Rs. 91.59 lakh within four days. The latest film, which has been garnering a mixed response from the audience, is set to become the fastest movie to cross the Rs. 1 crore mark in the multiplexes in the city. Earlier, Dulquer Salmaan's "Charlie" and Nivin Pauly's "Jacobinte Swargarajyam" had achieved this feat within nine days of their release. Meanwhile, Asif Ali, Biju Menon and Rajisha Vijayan's "Anuraga Karikkin Vellam" has become the first Eid releases to cross the Rs. 1 crore mark at the Kochi multiplexes within 18 days.
"Kabali," which also stars Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Winston Chao and Kishore, has grossed approximately Rs. 211 crore from the worldwide box offices within three days. It is expected to become the biggest grosser of the superstar, who will be next seen in S. Shankar's "2.0," which is the sequel of the blockbuster Rajini and Aishwarya Rai-starrer science fiction film "Enthiran."
