Zee TV's "Kaala Teeka" will soon take a 14-year leap and post that the show will witness the entry of new cast members along with a fresh plot.
According to a Telly Chakkar report, TV actor Niveen A Ramani, who was last seen in "Tu Mera Hero", will join the cast after the generation leap. Niveen will be seen playing the role of Neelkanth on the show.
"Niveen will play the role of Neelkanth aka Neelu who is Jethi Maa's (Mita Vashisht) son, and step-son of the antagonist Kalyani (Mona Ambegaonkar)," a source told the web portal.
Besides Niveen, TV actresses Simran Pareenja and Fenil Umrigar have also joined the show and will be playing the roles of grown-ups Kaali and Gauri, respectively. Rohan Gandotra of "Qubool Hai" fame will play the role of male lead Yug.
Post-leap, the plot of "Kaala Teeka" will revolve around two beautiful young ladies -- Kaali and Gauri -- who grew up following the same superstitious beliefs as that of their elders.
Gauri will grow up to become a popular singer, however, the voice behind her popularity will be that of Kaali's. Yug, an NRI, will return to his hometown, but will be completely against the superstitious beliefs.
There were also reports that before the big leap, the viewers will witness some high-voltage drama with Manjiri (Dalljiet Kaur) being diagnosed with mental illness and get admitted to a mental asylum.
