Junior NTR's "Janatha Garage" is all set for grand release in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Dubai and other international markets on Sep 1. The makers have revealed its schedule lists for its screening overseas.
The hype surrounding "Janatha Garage" had created huge demand for its overseas theatrical rights and leading distribution houses were in the race for the rights. Finally, FICUS Entertainment acquired the rights and it has reportedly shelled out Rs. 7.25 crore, which is the highest price for a film starring Junior NTR. FICUS has sold its rights of foreign countries, other than U.S., to Australia Telugu Movies and Eurotolly.
Junior NTR has huge fan following in North America, where his recent releases "Baadshah," "Temper" and "Nannaku Prematho" have done superb collections at the U.S. box office. To cash in on NTR mania, the distributors have already booked over 200 screens in the U.S. and around 10 screens in Canada.
"Janatha Garage" is the first Indian film to release in over 40 Cinemark theatres (See list) in the U.S. It will be the first Indian film to screen with Dolby Atmos in the U.S. in the first week and also the first Indian film to be screened at Regal Union Square Stadium 14 in New York. Austelugu is also distributing the movie in Australia and South Africa and the bosses are yet to reveal the number of screens that they have booked. Mohanlal has huge base in UAE and GCC circuits and the distributors have made grand plans to cash in on the craze of Laletton (Mohanlal). Austelugu is reportedly releasing "Janatha Garage" in over 65 screens in Middle East countries.
Eurotolly is reportedly distributing "Janatha Garage" in European countries like UK, Germany and others. The movie is being released in over 22 cinema halls across the U.K. and it is said to be the biggest Telugu release till date, as per the lists featured in ads. "Janatha Garage" is set to be released in nearly 350 cinema halls across various international markets. The makers have already delivered the prints of the movie to all the foreign regions on Aug 29. Mahesh S Koneru, the publicist for the film, tweeted on Aug 28: "#JanathaGarage prints for overseas territories will be dispatched a few hours after midnight ...All premieres on time."
The distributors have planned to hold premieres shows of "Janatha Garage" in several locations across the U.S on Aug 31. They opened its advance booking online on Monday morning and the movie is getting very good response.
