Jose Mourinho arrived at Manchester Uniteds training ground on 30 May to meet staff and get a tour from Ed Woodward, Uniteds executive vice-chairman .

While on the tour, Mourinho was greeted by Sir Bobby Charlton. The Red Devils legend said, Im very happy, very happy to see you, as he welcomed the 53-year-old to the club.

The Portuguese manager signed a three-year contact with Manchester United, with an option to stay at the club all the way up until the end 2020 season. His contract is thought to be worth around £12m ($18m, €16m) annually, with bonuses.

This is Mourinhos first venture since being sacked as manager of Chelsea in December 2015. He replaces Louis Van Gaal after the Dutchman spent two years at the club. Van Gaal was dismissed from his role at Manchester United just two days after he helped them lift the FA Cup, in a win against Crystal Palace at Wembley.

Jose Mourinhos initial appointment was held up due to image rights issues, as the special ones endorsement deals had a conflict of interest with some of Manchester Uniteds sponsors.
