Kannada movie "Jigarthanda" hit screens on Friday, June 24. It is a remake of Tamil movie, which was written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, of the same name.

Raahul, Ravi Shankar, Chikkanna, Sadhu Kokila, Samyukta Hornad and others are in the cast. Arjun Janya has composed the music, Jai Anand has handled the camera and Suresh Arumugam-S Devaraj have edited the flick.

The makers of "Jigarthanda" have promoted the movie well and their efforts have been met with a lot of success as the Kannada film has generated a lot of hype around it. The original version had not only won critical appreciation but also tasted huge commercial success. Hence, people have high hopes from the latest venture.

The movie tells the story of an aspiring filmmaker played by Raahul, who has a challenge to turn an adversity into an opportunity. He has to compromise on a few things in order to don the director's hat as producers have their own ideas about making films.

One producer tells the aspiring filmmaker to come up with a bloody gangster film and advises him to take inspiration from other language movies. This is when the aspiring director decides to make a movie on a real-life gangster played by Ravishankar.

He comes to the rowdy's life in an unexpected way and what happens next is the best part of the story.
