Colors' celebrity dance show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" is gearing up for the ninth season and while the names of the contestants, judges and host have already surfaced online, the launch date of the show has not been announced yet.
However, according to a report on Tellychakkar.com, "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9" will go on air on July 30. While the news will surely excite fans of the reality show, the report also said that this time, the show will be telecast once a week (Saturday) and will continue for about six months.
Meanwhile, the ninth season of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" will see a change in the format with not just solo but duet and trio performances by the contestants. The confirmed list of contestants is a mix of celebrities from television and film industry. Helly Shah, twin sisters Poonam and Priyanka, Gaurav Gera, Salman Y Khan, Harpal Sokhi, Surveen Chawla, Shakti Arora, Shantanu Maheshwari, Nora Fatehi, Siddhant Gupta, Karishma Tanna and Arjun Bijlani will be seen competing for the coveted trophy.
Recently, there were rumours that Manish Paul, who will reprise his role as the host this time as well, will be paid a whopping Rs. 2.5 crore for the show, thereby making him the highest paid TV host, leaving aside Bollywood superstars who charge a huge amount to host TV shows.
As for the judges, Karan Johar and Ganesh Hegde will continue to be a part of the reality show for this season as well. Joining them on the panel will be Bollywood beauty Jacqueline Fernandez, who will mark her TV debut with "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9."
