Celebrity dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" is gearing up for its upcoming season and the show recently roped in Shahid Kapoor as the new judge.
Rumours have been doing the rounds that Colors channel had to shell out a huge sum of money to bring Shahid onboard.
Apparently the actor, who will soon get hitched, is being paid a whopping ₹1.75 crore per episode to judge the contestants of the show, reported Bollywood Life.
Interestingly, Madhuri Dixit Nene, who has been replaced by the actor, was being paid around ₹1 crore per episode for the past four seasons.
Further, Manish Paul has also increased his fees and the host will be paid about ₹1 crore for the season.
Besides Shahid, choreographer Ganesh Hegde will take the judge's seat replacing Remo D'Souza. The only judge to be retained from the previous season is Karan Johar. For the first time, the reality show will have no female celebrities in the panel of judges.
Meanwhile, the confirmed list of contestants of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" includes Sanaya Irani, Ashish Chowdhry, Vivian DSena, Radhika Madan, Kavita Kaushik, Subhreet, Dipika Samson, Faisal Khan, Rapper Raftaar, Mohit Malik, Scarlett Wilson and Shamita Shetty.
