Patna, May 18 (ANI): A day after Nitish Kumar resigned as the chief minister of Bihar taking responsibility for the bad performance of JD (U) in the state, his party leaders on Sunday staged a protest outside his house in Patna asking him to continue as their leader and retract his resignation. Earlier, JD (U) President Sharad Yadav said that his party MLAs will elect a new leader to end the political uncertainty in the state after a party meeting at 4:00 pm on Sunday. The statement from Yadav came amid reports that the party may consider taking support from Lalu Prasad Yadav-led RJD to form the government. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar had said that he has made up his mind to vacate official residence and will shift to a nearby house and will not withdraw his resignation.
