Jaguar Land Rover India launched a new variant of the XE range christened as Prestige and priced at Rs. 43.69 lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai. The new variant sits between the Pure and the top-spec Portfolio variants priced at Rs. 39.9 lakh and Rs. 47.99 lakh, respectively.

The Prestige comes with features such as sliding sunroof, Taurus leather seats with driver seat memory, interior mood lighting, 380W Meridian sound system and rear view camera. The new variant is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol mill that develops 197bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 320Nm of torque at 1,750rpm mated to eight-speed automatic transmission.

"With the introduction of the Jaguar XE, we have entered a new market segment and made Jaguar more accessible to our customers while maintaining the premium and aspirational equity of the brand. This luxury sport saloon has been setting benchmarks in the industry since its launch and with the introduction of the Prestige derivative, we are confident of its continued popularity and success," said Rohit Suri, president of Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd (JLRIL), in a statement.

Jaguar Land Rover India launched the XE sedan at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. The Pure and the latest Prestige variants come with the same specifications, while the top-spec portfolio model gets higher engine output. The XE Portfolio's 2.0-litre engine develops 237bhp and 348Nm of torque mated to eight-speed automatic transmission. The Jaguar XE is pitted against the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Audi A4 sedans.
