Malayalam actor Jagathy Sreekumar's lovechild Sreelakshmi Sreekumar has been making headlines of late.

After her dramatic entry during Jagathy's first public appearance in three years, following his tragic accident in March 2012, Sreelakshmi is in the news once again.

The celebrity kid has now won her college union elections, becoming a senate member of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) while representing Kerala Students Union (KSU).

Sreelakshmi, who is a final year B.Com student at Sacred Heart College in Kochi, expressed her happiness on winning the election in the college, where her father was once the arts club secretary.

Thanks a lot friends for your support!... My Pappa was arts club secretary in his college (KSU) really really happy.. I thank everyone who worked for me and supported me and prayed for me !

She also requested everyone not to drag politics into her college life and thanked all her supporters. 

"College life gives us few good memories and this is one among them! Please don't drag politics into it. Rather it's a memorable moment that happen in our life!.. I thank everyone who supported Me. Vote ..nominations ...elections "college life," Sreelakshmi wrote on her Facebook handle on Wednesday, 29 July.

Meanwhile, Sreelakshmi made her acting debut with Viju Varma's 2014 film "Odum Raja Aadum Rani", which received poor reviews.
