It's Official: Hyundai i20 Active India Launch on 18 March; Feature, Price Details

The wait is about to end. South Korean auto major Hyundai will finally pull the cover off its much- awaited crossover i20 Active in India on 18 March.

Just a few days lie between the Indian auto lovers and the new Elite i20 based crossover i20 Active. Designed to compete against the likes of Toyota Etios Cross, Fiat Avventura and Volkswagen Polo Cross in the sub-continent market, the soon-to-be-launched i20 Active has made numerous appearances on the web through spy shots and reports.

The model, which has been styled and designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre in Russelsheim, Germany, will sport a new front fascia with projector headlamps, daytime running lights LED and fog lights and new front grille.

At the rear, the model is likely to flaunt new bumper with circular reflectors, roof spoiler, plastic claddings and new i20 Active badge. 

As for oily bits, new i20 Active is likely to carry over the same engine of its smaller sibling Elite i20. The petrol engine of Elite i20 has the capacity to churn out 83PS power and a peak torque of 114Nm and the diesel motor generates 90PS power and a peak torque of 220Nm. The transmission is likely to be taken care of by a 5-speed manual transmission for petrol and 6-speed manual gearbox for diesel and the new i20 crossover is expected to get increased ground clearance.

New i20 Active is speculated to fall in the price range of ₹6-8 lakh.
