FC Goa will hope to script their first home win of the season.ISL / Press release

FC Goa has been the least impressive team in the Indian Super League 2016, with one victory and four points under their belt so far. Likewise, Delhi Dynamos, who had started the ISL well, have collected seven points only. But when these two teams meet one another at JLN Stadium in Fatorda on Sunday, they will hope to play some positive football, and clinch three points.

The home fans in Goa have been left disappointed as their team have not scripted a single win in front of them. Hence, Goa FC will be more than determined for a solid performance against Delhi Dynamos. They have not played the quality of football, which helped them reach the final of the ISL 2015.

Players like Matheus Trindade, Julio Cesar, Robin Singh will have to be on top of their toes for 90 minutes to delight the home fans with three points, and move forward in ISL 2016. Goa's coach Zico wants his team to defeat Delhi on Sunday, and maintain their hopes of reaching the final four stages. He wants his offensive players to be clinical in front of goal.

"Every game is important from now and we need to win all matches to keep our chances alive to be in the first four. No team has dominated us so far, it is our finishing that has let us down as we have failed to score from the numerous chances we have created in all our six matches we have played and tomorrow we hope to convert the chances and win," Press Trust of India quoted Zico as saying.

Both the teams will need to take their game to the next level if they want to challenge top teams in the competition. Delhi might not have been too poor, but they have suffered unfortunate draws in the league so far, leading to their downfall. They lie on sixth place due to their failure to finish tight matches. Delhi have surprisingly only lost one game.

Delhi coach Gianluca Zumbrota is aware of the importance of three points to move up the ladder.

"FC Goa are a strong side and it will be very difficult to beat them at home. They have the advantage of playing at home and their players had good rest to recover from injuries. On the other hand, we have played against Pune City FC couple of days back and had no time to recover from injuries but that cannot be an excuse and we have to do our best and win tomorrow in order to stay in the top four," Zambrotta said.
