Irrfan Khan recently took to Twitter and asked some prominent politicians of India to meet him and he would ask them some questions as a commoner. The act was part of his promotional campaign for the movie "Madaari."

The versatile actor first tweeted to Arvind Kejriwal saying, "Desh ka ek aam nagrik hoon. Aap se kuch sawaal pochnay the. Can I meet you @ArvindKejriwal? [sic]." Kejriwal replied promptly and agreed to meet the actor.

Irrfan then tweeted to Rahul Gandhi asking the same question. He too was ready to meet Irrfan as he replied in affirmative.

Finally, the "Piku" actor tweeted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and received a different reply. "@irrfan_k Currently the PM is occupied with the upcoming Parliament Session. Please send a letter with details [sic]," came the reply from Modi's office when Irrfan asked the same question. The actor then tweeted back saying that he has emailed the letter to the PM.

Directed by Nishikant Kamat, "Madaari" is a social-thriller that will show Irrfan's character taking up law in his own hands in order to make a point to the political leaders. The film also features Jimmy Shergill as a cop.

"Madaari" is slated to be released on July 22 and will have a box office clash with Rajinikanth's big movie "Kabali." The trailer of "Madaari" had received positive response from the audience and is expected to have another brilliant performance from Irrfan.
