Eight teams, an array of cricketing superstars playing for different franchises, one trophy - the biggest of all T20 tournament is up and running. IPL 2016 began with the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) playing against one of the new franchises Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS).
In that game, MS Dhoni's Supergiants got the better of Mumbai Indians and registered their first ever win in IPL.
Several teams have made strong starts, while a few of them are yet to find their stride, ensuring this IPL 2016 season will be an exciting one.
