Steve Smith (L) and Shane Watson (R) will be crucial players for RR against CSK on Sunday.Vipin Pawar / IPL / SPORTZPICS

Ahead of match No.15 of Pepsi Indian Premier League (IPL) 2015 between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Ahmedabad on Sunday, Shane Watson was seen practising in the nets for hours.

This is definitely good news for the Royals. So far, his fellow Australian teammate Steven Smith was leading the Royals and he bagged four wins out of four matches that they played. Now the question remains,  who will get the axe when Watson steps into the playing XI?

Smith has been extremely efficient with his bat and his leadership abilities. Chris Morris and Tim Southee has been bowling well with the new ball as well. James Faulkner has appeared out of touch after his match winning all-round performance in their first match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Watson might just replace Faulkner for their clash against the CSK.

Watson was seen batting in the nets for more than an hour and also bowled for almost half an hour, reported The Times of India website. According to reports, he showed no signs of discomfort during the practice sessions. This sort of gives a hint that he is most likely to captain the Royals against the CSK.

Watson missed the fast four matches of this eighth edition of IPL because of a hip injury. His addition to the squad will bolster the RR's line-up. The Royals have played some brilliant cricket so far in this tournament despite Watson being injured. But they will have mountainous task as they take on one of the most consistent and dangerous sides of the IPL.
