Both Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have played only one match each in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 while the other teams have played two more games. The former won the previous match, while the latter lost. The match will be played at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali on Tuesday.

Overview:

Kings XI Punjab won the previous match, beating Pune Warriors India in a home away match. They will be keen to keep the momentum going.

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings, the most successful IPL team, lost to Mumbai Indians in their season's opener, that too at home. The two-time champions will be keen to put their first point on the score table.

Previous Meetings:

The teams had met 10 times in the past. Chennai Super Kings won six matches, while Kings XI Punjab won four, including the match that was won by super over.

Team News:

Kings XI Punjab: The team crafted a clinical win in the previous match with the top order - Adam Gilchrist, Mandeep Singh and Manan Vohra - giving reasonable contribution. Their contribution will be crucial in Wednesday's match. David Hussey, the second-most capped player in T20 cricket with 4829 runs to his credit, is expected to play well in the match.

However, the team will miss Shaun Marsh who has been ruled out due to injury.

Bowlers did a fantastic job in the previous match, restricting Pune Warriors India to 99 runs. Praveen Kumar, Azhar Mahmood and Piyush Chawla took two wickets each, while Parvinder Awana and Ryan Harris each took one wicket. They will be expected to deliver a similar spell on Wednesday.

Chennai Super Kings: The team has a strong batting line-up in Michael Hussey, Murali Vijay, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Subramaniam Badrinath and MS Dhoni. But none of them did well in the previous match except the captain, who scored a half century and almost led the team to victory. They need to pull up their socks in the match against the Kings XI Punjab.

South African all-rounder Albie Morkel has joined the team but his participation in Wednesday's match is doubtful owing to an ankle injury.

The bowlers did reasonably well in the previous match, restricting the Mumbai Indians' score to 148. Dwayne Bravo took two wickets while the rest took one wickets apiece.

Prediction:

Kings XI Punjab are riding on the confidence of the first match win besides home ground advantage, but Chennai Super Kings are a balanced side. MS Dhoni's men are favourite to win the match.
