Indian manufacturer Intex Technologies on Friday launched a feature-rich, low-cost smartphone called Cloud X3 in the Indian market with a price-tag of ₹3,790.

Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, GM-Mobility Division, Intex Technologies Ltd at the launch event said, "The feature phone market in India has matured and there is a subsequent growth in the smartphone category. Building on this burgeoning market, Intex offers its latest smartphone Cloud X3 that is especially designed to meet the need of entry level users who would like to migrate to a more sophisticated mobile experience".

Intex Cloud X3 sports a 3.5-inch capacitive touch-screen and runs on the Android v4.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek Cortex-A7 processor with 256MB RAM and 115MB inbuilt memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

The new handset houses a 2.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and a VGA camera on the front side.

Considering its price-tag, Intex Cloud X3 is probably the most feature-rich, entry-level smartphone in the market. Many of the sub-₹5,000 priced rival handsets feature the three-generation old Android v2.3 Gingerbread OS, single-core processor and sometimes they don't even house a secondary camera.

If buyers are contemplating to migrate from feature phones to smartphones, Intex Cloud X3 would make a smart buy.
