The start of the star-studded Indian Super League (ISL) 2015 is less than a month away and the defending champions, Atletico de Kolkata, are leaving no stone unturned to retain Sourav Ganguly co-owned franchise's popularity.

Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has called the Atletico de Kolkata fans for their support for the former club's game against Barcelona on Saturday night.

In a candid video, Torres asked for the Atletico de Kolkata fans' support for Atletico Madrid's La Liga match against Barcelona. This fixture has now become one of the most anticipated in Spanish football. With Diego Simeone at the helm, Atletico Madrid have become one of the strong contenders of the La Liga now.

Atletico de Kolkata's association with the Spanish giants had made Ganguly's franchise reach the pinnacle of popularity right from the first season. Currently, the defending champions of the ISL are training in Spain ahead of the start of the league in October.

They have been training hard so that they can hold on to their title in the second season of the ISL. Their title defence campaign will begin on 3 October when they will take on Chennaiyin FC in the first game of ISL 2015 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai.

Just after a day Ganguly announced that England forward Wayne Rooney will be visiting Kolkata in the month of November, now it is Torres's turn to converse with the Atletico de Kolkata fans and seek their support for their game against Barcelona. The video was posted on the official Facebook page of Atletico de Kolkata on Thursday.
