Pune Pistons (PP) will take on Banga Beats (BB) on the eighth day of Indian Badminton League (IBL) 2013. The match will take place at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Badminton Hall, Pune on Friday.

Overview:

PP have nine points on the table from three ties, two wins and a loss. They defeated Krrish Delhi Smashers 3-2 in the tournament opener and beat Mumbai Masters 3-2 in their second match before conceding 1-4 defeat to Hyderabad Hotshots in their previous encounter. They need to win by a big margin on Friday to fancy a spot in the semi-final.

BB are currently placed in the bottom of the table with seven points from two ties, a win and a loss. However, they will keep their hope of entering the semi-finals alive if they win on Friday, as they have played only twice. They conceded 3-2 defeat to Mumbai Masters in their opening match before beating Awadhe Warriors 4-1.

Team News:

Pune Pistons: Tien Minh Nyugen, Saurabh Verma and Juliane Schenk are expected to play for the team in the singles while the unbeaten pair Ashwini Ponappa and Joachim Fischer Nielsen will play in the doubles.

Banga Beats: Carolina Marin is expected to shoulder the responsibility of playing the singles and partner with Danish Carston. Hun Yu and P Kashyap will play singles for the team.
