The much-awaited India vs South Africa series is in the horizon and the players are sweating it out in the preparatory camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore.

Ahead of the T20 series against the Proteas, leggie Amit Mishra stated during the training camp that the forthcoming series is going to be a challenging one.

Mishra also added that the conditions are going to test the players during this energy-sapping marathon tour.

"No doubt the series is challenging with the South African squad being so strong, but our team is equally strong, especially when you look at our ODI and T20I teams. All the boys are talented and the contest will surely be competitive. The conditions will be discovered only when we go to the grounds. Our key focus right is to better our game, no matter what. We cannot tell which are the specific areas of concern at the moment. That will be possible only when the matches begin," Mishra told reporters while training at the NCA on Tuesday.

Mishra, who has had a good outing with the ball in the Lankan Island against Sri Lanka, said that he has a good understanding with India's other popular tweaker Ravichandran Ashwin and loves to bowl in tandem with the Chennai-lad.

"I have played heaps of cricket with Ashwin so there is a good understanding between us now. The best part about it is that we share whenever there is some problem and solve it together. We've been improving each other's bowling by helping out each other in every possible way. And it's not just with us; we have been having a good partnership with the other bowlers in the team and this in turn is good news for the side," Mishra added.

Mishra also went on to laud the two Indian skippers, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. He opined that both the captains are very supportive. They are the ideal men inside the current Indian team for which the okayers share a good bonding.

"Dhoni [Bhai] and Virat are very supportive, always ready to give advice to their players. Whenever they see a player needs a push, they give that and it is very helpful in the long run. For example, the current atmosphere in the Indian team is superb, all the players are bonded—they talk, discuss and better each other's games and this is the major reason behind the increases morale of the side," Mishra concluded.
