Virat Kohli and Jayant Yadav have played a massive role in putting India in the driver's seat after their respective double ton and maiden century on Day 4 of the fourth Test match against England in Mumbai on Sunday. India, who started the day on 451 runs, have compiled 631 in their first innings, giving them a lead of 231 runs.

Kohli started the day on 147 runs, and he looked at his fluent best during the first session on Sunday, scoring a double hundred with a flick on the leg side before lunch. Jayant Yadav was a delight to watch as well, playing some brilliant shots all around the ground with his willow.

England might have had a plan of dismissing Jayant early and wrapping up India's first innings, but it was not to be as the two players were involved in a solid partnership of 241 runs. Kohli completed his double ton in the first session.

Kohli and Jayant were in full control of things as they played some positive cricket to score quality runs in fours. With Jayant looking in great knick with the bat, Kohli did not have any fear of losing his partner at the other end. Kohli was constantly seen giving high fives to Jayant, who hit some delicious fours to the fence.

Jayant was not even afraid to play the aerial shots over the bowlers head. He was playing like a proper batsman, and did not look in any spot of bother. Jayant completed his ton in the second session of the day and he looked pleased with his major contribution, which has put India in a commanding position.

The India skipper was not only making him comfortable at the batting crease with his high fives and hugs, but Kohli was scoring runs at will against the seamers as well as the pacers. Jayant lost his wicket after scoring 104 runs, and then Kohli began to shift gears, taking the attack to the opposition.

Kohli began to play aerial shots, looking for quick runs, and in trying to do so, he was also out for a well-made 235 runs. The English players walked up to Kohli, and congratulated him for his splendid innings.

Eventually, India were all out for 631 runs with a healthy 231-run lead. Now, England have a tough task on their hand with the pitch assisting the spinners.
